Mario Bros!
Lukas has turned into a Mario freak...and my husband and him will sit and play and have all sorts of fun together! Lukas will sit and play Mario when he isn't playing Mario with his imagination and Mario will be his food, a car, or even a piece of something he finds. We try to limit him and his play time. I don't want him to do it all day long all the time, but we do allow him if he has had a good day to play for an hour in the evening or if he has a good day on the weekend then he will get to play. Mario has become a reward!
If you do play on his team though he gets a little possessive and competitive when it comes to playing. I have a couple examples:
1. He will want all the flowers and fliers. He doesn't like to share them and freaks out or cries if he doesn't get it and you do. We are trying to teach him to share and sometimes he will say "OK you can have the flower or flier".
2. He will run way ahead sometimes and that kills your player. If he does this too much I stop playing with him, which makes him mad because he wants us to play along with him. He has gotten a little better with this. He will almost follow you now sometimes, just so you can fight or kill something he knows that will kill him.
3. He likes to tell you when you can't do something and he can. He likes to rub it in! I told him that people won't want to play with him if he is telling them they can't do things. He has to be polite and play.
All in all Mario has been a great tool for getting him to eat his supper, pick up toys, or being good at school and daycare. All of these things would cause him to not get to play if he didn't do them.

Brownie in a Cup!
I found a recipe for making a brownie in a cup on Pinterest. I tried it on the kids one night after supper and they both loved it!
Lukas asked to have frosting on his, and I put a little on Megan's too. When you make something that they love and they are eating it you get blessed and lucky to encounter...a nice quiet time. It's a wonderful thing!
Here's the recipe: Brownie in a Cup

Baby Lucy Update!
My brother's baby girl is now 1 month old as of last Saturday. They gave me a valentine that had a picture of Lucy's feet as a heart. The picture says I ♥ U! When my brother's girlfriend handed it to me she said "it has a double meaning" and when I looked at the frame it said "Godparents are the Best!" I was so shocked and happy! I almost cried! I told her we would love to be her Godparents and I felt very honored and blessed.
I especially love her little outfit above..."AUNTIE forever!" Heck ya! I love that little peanut! When I hold her I just want to hug her and kiss her and never let her go! Love you little Lucy!

Lukas's Big Boy Bed
A couple weekends ago we finally put together Lukas's big boy bed! He had started growing out of the toddler bed and we knew it was time. Well my husband and I asked my Mom to watch the kids while we put it together. I was seriously thinking it would only take 2 hours or so. Well...we dropped them off at 3pm after Megan's nap. Ran to the store and got his mattress. Which only took 20 minutes. So we were home by 3:30pm and got to work. I didn't pick the kids up until around 7pm! Apparently this was a 3 1/2-4 hour job! Yikes!
So now Megan and Lukas don't have much room in their room. Her crib and his bed take up most of it. Our family is out growing this house and we definitely will be needing to figure something out in the next year or so. Moving is probably our only option.
This summer we will probably be switching Megan over to a toddler bed, but I am worried she won't stay in it. She's not a horrible sleeper, but I am worried if she wakes up I won't get her to stay in her bed and sleep. I guess we will see!

Pretty Pink Toes
Megan let me paint her toe nails last week! It was so cute! She sat still and kept giggling while I painted them. She said "ooo peety" and then she would smile at me. I kept telling her "look Meggars, pretty pink toes!" After I got done painting them I let her run around without socks to dry them. When I went to put her socks back on she kept ripping them off. She wanted to keep seeing her pretty pink toes!
Another thing she likes to do is wear headband and hair things. She doesn't like it when I do it, but she likes to try to do it herself. Sometimes she will ask me to put stuff on for her and then she sits and smiles at herself in the mirror. Well she kept this little bow in almost all day a couple Saturdays ago!
That's my little Meggars! Pretty in Pink!

Happy Belated Valentines...
Well last week was super crazy! I didn't get a chance to post at all. Between work and home I didn't have much for spare time. The kids and I made the above valentines for their school and daycare valentines parties. I made a homemade finger paint recipe I found on Pinterest. Neither one of them wanted to use their fingers to paint. Lukas wanted a paint brush and Megan copied him. Needless to say I was the only one finger painting...trying to show them just how much fun it was.
Lukas signed the valentines for his school party. I signed the ones for daycare from him and Megan. He got really sick of writing his name that is why we separated signing them into 3 days. The last day he was getting really "creative" and signing his name backwards, or placing the letters all over the place. What a goof!
My husband surprised me with flowers! I felt sooo special! Cute little monkey too! Love you babe!

Megan's Style
Lukas started fighting with me on what he was going to wear or when he was going to get dressed around the age of 2. Megan is 19 months old and has already started. If she knows how to take it off...it's coming off. No and ifs or buts. She was wearing this particular outfit a couple weeks ago. She decided to take off her little fleece jacket that went with the pants. I put it back on her twice, and each time she would say "no Mama" and take the jacket off. Including her socks. She would rip those off too. She does this frequently and daycare just loves when she won't keep her clothes on (notice the sarcasm lol).
Well I thought...maybe if I let her pick it out she will wear it. So I put a few shirts out and let her pick, and the sock basket. She picked out a lime green and blue shirt to go with her peach colored pants. Then she picked purple socks out of the sock basket. After we got her dressed I opened her closet door and said "pretty!" She got all excited and she actually kept her clothes on! I didn't give her any options of clothing that would be easy to remove though so that may be why it stayed on. She started pointing to the basket that holds her hair bands and bows. So I got it down and she picked out a light pink hand band. Needless to say everything she was wearing didn't match in the least. She looked pretty darn cute though!

Happy Saturday!
Last weekend while the ice storm was outside doing it's thing we were chilling at home and Lukas asked me "Mom will you take a picture of my and my cars?" I said sure. So he got both Lightening and Flynn and set them on the chair and leaned in posing with them. Too funny!
Happy Saturday!

Car Wash!
This is how you get a 1 1/2 year old to be calm while waiting in a long line to wash your car. She was getting mad she was stuck in her car seat. She kept telling me "Mama, tuck!" over and over. Then when she started crying that was when I got my Kindle Fire out and opened the Firework app. She calmed right down and started playing the game. Thank goodness, because the line didn't move quickly either!
Lukas on the other hand didn't need to be occupied he was watching the cars ahead talking about he car wash. He was excited waiting for our turn. He loves a car wash and he even will give me the play by play while we are in the car wash. He'll say "Mom, first they blow water underneath our car." I will say "yep" then he will say "now they are gonna rinse our car." Then he will talk about the soap and the brushes. Then the spot free rinse. It all fascinates him and he just loves going through the car wash.
Well Megan is the opposite. She doesn't like a car wash. Maybe when she is older she will, but when I took her this last time...no so much! She started frowning when the car wash started. Then she started getting nervous and crying a little. Both Lukas and I reassured her it's OK as we smiled at her. Lukas said "Meggers, it's OK...it's just a car wash...it only cleans the outside of the car...we don't get wet inside." The Kindle did nothing to calm her. Thank goodness a car wash is maybe 5 minutes long or so!
