Mini Piggy Run

 

Megan got to participate in her first run on the 4th of July!  Lukas and her friend Harper too!  We had a lot of fun, she made it almost half way through running and then I had to carry her till close to the end.

Whoa...Long time no post.

 

 

 

Ok, so life gets busy and gets away from us.  That is all I can say.  To my kiddos...if you ever read any of this someday...you guys are my most important priority!  Hands down, but posting about you like I used has gotten difficult.  Doesn't mean I love you any less!  Just means Momma got busy living life and enjoying you when she's not working!

 

So, anyway...updates.  I must update this since it's almost been a year since I posted!

 

Lukas is the big 7!!  He is growing into such a kind and sweet little boy.  He's generous, sweet, caring, and above all very easy kid.  Can't believe I started blogging about him 7 years ago and he just keeps on growing and learning!  He will be starting 2nd grade this year, it's just unbelievable to me that he can already be 7!  Holy cow!!

He's been so busy growing up...he has changed a lot!  He has lost of his bottom teeth, and the tooth fairy has been making her visits.  He can read, so simple math, tell time, and do simple things around the house by himself.  He's also so helpful!  For fun he like to play Minecraft, play soccer, color, play with his cars, and of course play anything Mario related.  I love you Lukas!!

 

Now, Miss Megan has also been busy changing and growing!  She is 4 and for her birthday this year she wanted her ears pierced.  She did amazing (picture below)!  She is pretty much potty trained with minimal accidents, and she gets to start Preschool this year!  She is sweet, but definitely has a mind of her own!  To say she is stubborn is an understatement!  She is passionate and fun loving though and very determined when she gets her mind on something. 

 



 

She will get to start "pretty school" in the fall and she is very excited!  She also got to participate in dance last year and is signed up again to do it again this fall!  She had such a great time dancing and really loved it!

Long time no Post. Lukas is 6 and Megan is 3 now!

I understand what they mean now when they say "life gets in the way" and I have been bad at keeping up on my kid's blog.  Since February...we have had many happy happy days!  Lukas completed his first year of kindergarten, and turned 6 in May!  Megan has started the grueling process of potty training and she turned 3 in July!  That's one thing I can say, my kiddos just keep growing, learning, and changing everyday!

 

 

 

Hopefully, I will get more chances to post in the near future!  Lukas starts 1st grade in 2 weeks and Megan gets to start dance this fall!  I will have plenty of things to show and talk about!

 

Winter Winter Go Away!

Winter needs to leave...right now!  I am sick of this cold, and snow...not to mention 2 to 3 days a week is a crappy commute!  We are all praying for Spring here, and honestly it can't come soon enough!

UPDATE!

Just a quick update...

 

 

Since the last time I wrote a post much has changed in my little world!  I am continuing to love my new job!  However, all the learning new stuff leaves me so tired at the end of the day!

 

Lukas had his kindergarten Christmas concert last week, and he was so cute!  He did some good singing and then toward the end I think he got a little bored.  He started copying the principle while she was conducting.

 

Megan is still tackling her cold, which she gave to me.  I suppose that was bound to happen though with her and I sharing so many things! 

 

Thanksgiving was great and we were able to make both families Thanksgivings.  I felt like I was going to pop though! 

 

Christmas is quickly coming up and I have not done any shopping.  I will have to get on that...and cards...and baking.  Ugh lol.  That sounds like a lot of work! 

 

 

 

With all the snow, ice, and blowing...it certainly is looking way too much like Christmas!  Which I guess is OK...if we have to have it!

Pizzas...and Pumpkins!  We carved pumpkins a couple weekends ago to get ready for Halloween.  Lukas's pumpkin with the goofy eyes, nose, and ears is just too cute!  Megan and I made a kitty cat with her pumpkin. 

We had alot of fun carving the pumpkins and then lighting them.  Lukas and Megan posed with their pumpkins.  Lukas was pretty proud.  Megan was not in the posing mood!  Too funny!

Happy Halloween!!

Busy, Fun, and New Opportunities!

Ok so I have alot to say.  Since I have not posted in weeks I guess that happens.  Life has a way of getting busy, throwing a curve ball, and it all moves on!

A couple weeks ago I went to the Pumpkin Patch with Lukas's kindergarten class.  We had so much fun!  Lukas surprised me with how outgoing he is around his peers.  He was engaged, asked questions, talked to everyone, nice to everyone, and volunteered for things!  My little guy just blew me away!  I was extremely pleased seeing him interact with everyone so nicely!

 

All in all he had a great time!  Afterward I went to school with him and ate lunch!

 

 

So, the beginning of October I put my resume into a new place for a new job.  Well they called me that same week and asked me to come in for an interview.  I really didn't think too much of it and just thought that this would be good practice for when I get really serious about finding a job.  A half hour after I left the interview they called and offered me the job!  I can honestly say I was very shocked.  I had really not expected to get the job, but only because it was a easier version of what I do for my current company.  However, I took the job and it will be a great opportunity for our family financially and we can now maybe get a house we will all fit in a little better!  We celebrated that night with a little Perkins for our family!  (Lukas and Megan's favorite restaurant!)

So we are now gearing up for a very busy end of 2013 and an exciting 2014! 

 

I will be very busy with finishing projects at my current job and getting ready for my new job, so the blog posts will be a little more sporadic.  I hope to keep blogging after I get all settled in and get a laptop or computer to use at home!  My last day at my current job is November 6th and start right away at my new position on the 7th!  Yikes...it will all be good!

Our 1st Family Vacation!

 

We decided the middle of September to take our family up to our friends cabin for our first family vacation!  We invited my Mom to come with and relax aswell.  Here's a little bit of how our 1st family vacation kind of dudded out.  (Only because of weather, and vehicle problems...I must say the kids were awesome, and it was nice getting to spend time up away at the cabin!)

Now first let me start by saying our children were fantastic!  The whole vacation and both drives we had no problems with them!  I thank god everyday that they were so well behaved with the other stuff we were dealing with! 

We drove up on a Wednesday night and didn't arrive until late!  About 12:30am or so.  The kids were hyper awake by that point.  We fed them a snack and got them all wound down and off to bed by 1-1:30am.  My Mom took the loft up above the garage so she could have some nice quiet time while we were up there.  Chris and I stayed up watching and movie and just finally relaxing!  That night went well...I must say!

Woke up Thursday and it was raining.  Got all the stuff done we wanted to (groceries, boat charged) and it was raining on and off all day.  Well finally just before supper we decided the weather looked good so we should try to get out on the boat.  Needless to say...we never got out on the boat.  We did get everything working, but we ran into supper time and then bath time...so we never got back out there.

 

Kids did get to play on the boat while we messed around trying to get the motor going!  Then a big whirlpool bath!

 

Friday morning we woke up and it was super chilly!  It rained on and off again, but we decided to fair Itasca State Park anyway.  We would just dress warm!

 

Well while on our way to Itasca we noticed the back tire on my Mom's vehicle was making a grinding noise.  At first we thought...maybe it's the road.  Then it happend again on a different road.  So while we did get to make it to the headwaters of the mississippi we didn't stay at Itasca to finish our nature walk/drive.  We turned around and took the car into a local business to take a look.  They said it was the bering and that they could fix it the next day.  Sounded good to us.  We stopped got some pizza and headed back to the cabin for a movie, fish a little, rest, then supper, and a fire.

 



We decided that night that we would just take off Saturday after the car was fixed.  Things weren't really going our way and we thought it would be nice to get home around supper time and then have all day Sunday to chill and have to ourselves. 

 

So Saturday we got up had breakfast and my husband and Lukas went off to get the car fixed.  It seemed like forever.  My Mom and I got the cabin all cleaned up and everything packed so we could take off when they got back.  I am going to add that this is the nicest day we had up there too!  It was gorgeous out!  Anyway around 11:30am we got a call from Chris that the axle was bad too and that it wouldn't be fixed this weekend.  So we went on a wild goose chase trying to find a rental car.  It looked like we weren't leaving Saturday, and maybe not even Sunday.  Possibly Monday.  However, we found a rental company open until 3pm that day and we did rent a cross over vehicle to fit us all in and get us home.  We left Saturday afternoon and got home later Saturday night. 

 

The car is still up there and it should be fixed soon or at least this week and then my Mom or Chris and I will be heading up there to get it. 

 

All in all...we got to spend time together up north and do some relaxing so the trip was a success in that effect.  Some of the things that got us down (firewood at first, the boat, the weather, grill out of propane (no car to get more), my Mom's vehicle), well we learned that things don't always go as you plan.  However, things could have been much worse.  I am thankful we got to get away and have some time with our family up north.  I did my best to make some great food, drinks, and lots of fun walks with my kiddos!  If you ask Lukas about our trip up north he gets excited and he loved every minute of it.  I am going to remember our vacation through his eyes!  It's so much more fun that way!

Lucy Stays with us for an all day visit!

My sweet little niece Lucy came over for an all day visit a couple weeks ago!  She's crawling now, and she made noises, says "mumm mumm" over and over!

 

Lucy was mostly obsessed with our dogs.  She would crawl as fast as her little body could get her there, just to be abandoned by the dogs by the time she would reach them!  She would sigh and then turn around and put her little head back down to crawl as fast as she could to where ever they went.  It was very cute!

 

The kids all played nicely together too!  Megan was a bit of a bully and she kept taking toys away from Lucy, but we kept telling her to give them back.  If she wasn't playing with them first then she needs to wait till Lucy was done playing with it to go get it.

 

After lunch and nap time we decided to pack the kids in the car and go to the nature center.  This is what the sardines in our car backseat looked like...

 

When we got to the nature center Megan and Lukas got to walk the trails while Lucy got pushed in Megan's stroller.  Lucy was an excellent nature explorer!  She just sat and chewed on her sock the whole time!

After the nature center we went home and got supper started.  She took her second nap shortly afterward!  So we played outside with the kids to give Lucy some quiet time to nap.

 

Then toward the end of the night I got her all dolled up in her pajamas and let her play.  She started getting a little fussy.  Which really surprised us because she had been pretty quiet all day long!  I got her a bottle ready and she chugged that down in no time!

 

We loved having you visit Lucy!!  Love you little sweetie!!!

Can't believe how busy this month as been!  Yikes!  Here we are now into Fall!

Memorial Weekend Fun- Walks, Weddings, Picnics, and Parks!

 

We took a walk with the kiddos at our favorite place, our local Nature Center!  Went to a pretty backyard wedding, and then had a picnic with our kids at the park!  Wonderful weekend full of hot, then not so hot, and cold weather!

Then our picnic...from Labor day.  We went to a local park and froze...OK that might be a little over dramatic, but it was so cold and windy!  We did have fun though!  Lukas liked to fly out the "robot slide" as he called it.

 

Good bye summer we will miss you!  It's like 80 some degrees today though so...it very much still feels like summer here!  Maybe next year we can go do some camping, since this summer got so busy we never got any in!
