Megan's favorite play date!

 

 

Megan has a new buddy and her name is Harper!  Harper like Megan loves Frozen, running around playing, coloring, eating M&Ms, and playing house!  They get along so great!  The above is a picture of Megan in her Elsa dress and Harper is wearing the Anna dress.

Long time no Post. Lukas is 6 and Megan is 3 now!

I understand what they mean now when they say "life gets in the way" and I have been bad at keeping up on my kid's blog.  Since February...we have had many happy happy days!  Lukas completed his first year of kindergarten, and turned 6 in May!  Megan has started the grueling process of potty training and she turned 3 in July!  That's one thing I can say, my kiddos just keep growing, learning, and changing everyday!

 

 

 

Hopefully, I will get more chances to post in the near future!  Lukas starts 1st grade in 2 weeks and Megan gets to start dance this fall!  I will have plenty of things to show and talk about!

 

Goofy Little Girl!

 

Lukas at 2 years old never asked to go play at friend's houses, or never interacted so much older than a 2 year old does.  Megan is another thing though.  Here are a few examples...

1. She has a friend at daycare that she just loves, and last Saturday she kept asking me "Mommy, can I go play at Tenlee's house?"  I told her not today, but she kept asking over and over again.  I thought it was cute!

2. She was sitting on my lap playing the Kindle and I was watching TV.  I sneezed and she said "oh Mommy bless you!"  I said "thanks baby girl!"  She just smiled and me and said "welcome!".

3. I asked her if she wanted a cookie, but I told her first she needed a diaper change.  After a long pause she said, "what?" so I repeated myself  and she said, "no Mommy, I don't care."  I said "you don't want a diaper change or a cookie."  She then rolled her eyes and gave me a side ways look "neither Mommy" then shook her head and giggled at me and kept playing her leapster. 

She's this sweet little person with a huge attitude!  My oh my!

Sunflowers and Apple Picking- Beautiful Fall

 

Well another birthday of mine and come and gone again.  It's funny how when you have children that their birthday's mean more to you than your own.  I get way more excited for Lukas and Megan's birthdays than my own.  Yeah...I am still here another year older lol.  That being said my best friend Jessie asked me and my kids to go apple picking and sunflower picking at her parent's last Sunday so she could spend some time with me for my birthday!  I must say it was very nice!  Her Mom even made some homemade pizza!  Made me feel very special!

The actual day of my birthday I had many wonderful birthday wishes!  My husband sent me flowers, my friend Brooke treated me to lunch, and my Mom and Aunt gave me some beautiful birthday cards!  Makes a lady feel very loved!  Lukas and Megan had no idea it was my birthday.  Lukas was excited at first and then he said "awesome, Mom are we gonna have cake?"  I told him no, and he said "oh ok, it's not your birthday?"  I laughed and said "yes it is my birthday, but I don't need cake."  My husband did send me some cookies though and I did share those with them!  I think Lukas thought that was a good enough LOL!

Lukas starts Kindergarten-Coming home from school! (Part 2)

 

While Lukas was at his first day of school, Megan and I met up with my best friend Jessie to have some lunch!  Megan was so silly all day.  She talked alot about Lukas and you could tell she really missed him. 

After lunch we went home and took naps.  I had to wake her up early so I could go get Lukas from the bus stop.  She was all excited!  I was wearing a hat and sunglasses so she copied me.  These pictures are before we left to go meet him and while we were waiting for him to get dropped off!

 

When Lukas did get off the bus he looked so tired, but he was smiling and very talkative!

 

Gave his little sister a huge hug!

 

He told me "Mom school was fun!" and "I had cheese pizza for lunch!"  Then he asked us what we ate for lunch and he wanted to know all about our day.  I was more concerned to find out more about his day though!  He got this little gift from his teacher for his first day of school.

After we picked him up we went out for Dairy Queen and Lukas picked a slushie and Megan had ice cream!  It was a great day all in all! 

Megan's Friend and Daycare Fun!

If you ask Megan how her day went at daycare she will say "dood!"  Which of course means 'good' and if you ask her who her best friend at daycare is she will say "Tenee" (aka Tenlee).  The picture above is a little girl about 2 months older than Megan  and her pulling each other and they are such great friends!  They sqweal when they see each other and run and hug most mornings!  They play together so well because they like the same things!  So this is Megan's Tenlee and she loves her best friend! 

Another thing...Megan is goofy!  She was playing with some of Emma's (our daycare lady's daughter and Megan's 3rd cousin) hair stuff.  Emma/our daycare lady sent me these goofy pictures!

 

She thinks she is "petty" and she really loved this in her hair...but only to be funny!  If I made her wear that she would freak out at me...I am mostly positive anyway!  She is a stubborn little lady!

Then I had the following exchange with my daycare lady.  She sent me a picture of Megan sleeping one day at nap time.  I love that our daycare lady loves our kids and enjoys them too!

Hanging off the bed.

Megan's getting the hang of sleeping in her bed.  The whole process has went alot better than I was originally thinking it would.  The other day went I went to wake her up she had her head hanging off the bed and she was still sleeping.  She's so funny!

Painting Megan's "NEW" Bed

About a month ago I found this toddler bed at a garage sale for 5 bucks.  It did look a little beat up and I thought to myself...I could make this look cute with some spray paint and cute bedding for Megan!  So I snatched it up and my Mom and I got it loaded into her car.  Came home and put it in the basement for now.  Well almost 2 week ago Megan turned two and I decided it was time to get the bed ready, however we had no free time until middle of July.  So when it rained this last Saturday I jumped at the unexpected time at home!

We picked up the Dora bedding I had ordered and bought the spray paint.  That Saturday afternoon I started painting it.  This was what it looked like after the 1st coat of spray paint.

After another coat and half, and 2 days later...here is the bed all set up and ready to go!  Purple and Dora go together like peanut butter and jelly!

 

So Monday night was her first night sleeping in her big girl bed.  We gave hugs, got her blankie, and read stories.  After I put her to bed I gave her a hug and kiss and told her "I love you pumpkin!"  She giggled and said "buv you!"  That was the last I heard from her all night.  She slept great all night.  Hopefully that continues...I was very worried about switching her to a big girl bed and that she wasn't ready.  Guess I was wrong!

Breaking Free...and I freaked out!

Ok...I started video taping Megan because she was cute dragging around the cooler and my keys.  She wanted to go visit Haidyn (a second cousin of hers).  She said "bye Mommma, bye!"  I looked over and she had our cooler and my keys in her hand.  I said "Megan where are you going?"  She smiled and said "bye bye, going to Haidyn's."  I laughed and grabbed my phone to get it in a video.  Well she kept it up and was trying to open the door.  To my surprise...she got it opened!  My heart stopped and I freaked just a little!  We have a baby proof thing on the door and she got it open!  Yikes!

Peety like Dow-wa!

This is one of the gifts Megan got for her birthday.  It's a Dora birthday party dress with a matching doll dressed in the same dress that sings happy birthday!  Megan tried it on and loved it!  She exclaimed "Momma, I peety like Dow-wa!"

A Dora Birthday Party!

Last Sunday Meggars turned 2 years old!  We had a Dora fiesta to celebrate!  I made her cake Sunday morning and for the whole rest of the day all I kept hearing from her was "Momma, I have cake?"  I am not kidding even slightly!  She asked for it...all...day...long! 

We had some sloppy joes, fruit, chips, and dip too!  She loved having people come over and she was very excited people brought presents!  However, I think Lukas was even more excited than she was about the presents!  She took her time gently opening each present!  It drove her brother crazy!

Her favorite part of the birthday party though was the cake...I am pretty sure.  She talked about it all day long, and when it finally got to the time to go have cake she took off into the kitchen in a flash!

 



Lukas had to finally help her blow out the candle.  She wasn't sure exactly what she was supposed to do.  Lukas said "here Megan let me show you..."

Once the candle was blown out they were free to have a cupcake and yes...I did give them each a small piece of cake to go with their cupcake. 

All in all she had a great birthday!  Can't believe my baby is 2!  Where does time go?

Megan's Fun with Grandma

While we were up North sharing that fishing experience with Lukas my Mom took Megan for a weekend of fun!  Friday night they went shopping and my Mom got her sandals and a Dora guitar!  Which she loves!!!  She sent me the above picture!  She's so darn cute!

Saturday there was a chance of rain, but my Mom took Megan to the Nature Center with a friend of hers and her daughter Gracie.  Megan had alot of fun!

They did alot of walking and went into the building.   They were there for 1 1/2 hours!  Which left Megan very tired...

Oh and she peed in the potty for Grandma too!!  Her very first pee in the potty!  Good job hunny bear!!!

Thanks Mom for taking Megan!  She had so much fun!  She was happy to see us come home, but she loves her some time with her Grandma!  I bet she loved having you to herself! 

When my Mom brought her home when we got home she wasn't even concerned about seeing me.  She did get a little excited, but it was all about "Dutas" and she was ecstatic to see him!  Hugs and giggles when they reunited from the long weekend!!!

Feeding her Baby

Megan has started mimicing what adults do.  She will be on her "cell phone" and stand at her little Dora kitchen making "food" while talking on the phone.  She likes to get her babies out and feed them.  Her imagination is starting to come to life.  She will quietly play with a car or train by herself.  Even her toys...but she is copying what she sees Lukas doing.  So she does play alot with cars and trains.  She also loves legos!  Those keep her entertained and busy for a long time!

She even got daddy to babysit her baby and feed her baby!

 

 

Look Fower Mommy!

 

Now that it's finally getting nice out we can get out and hang out with the beautiful green grass, and the weeds...oh I mean flowers.  Megan was picking dandelions and those purple flower weeds too.  She is so sweet.  She looks at me and says "Mom!  look a fower!"  Then she picks it and gives it to me! 

 

 

She started singing while holding the flowers and I was like 'oh I gotta get this on video' and by the time I got my phone switched from camera to video recorder she stopped!  That's how it goes though!

 





Two Peas In a Pod

Where Lukas goes Megan goes...what Lukas does Megan does...what Lukas says Megan says and the list goes on and on.  I love their bond and how they adore each other.  I know this won't last forever, but Lukas is a great big brother to his sister and Megan just follows Lukas around like a little puppy.  They have their seperate times too, when Lukas will sit and play his DS or watch TV Megan plays with her babies or her Dora kitchen.  Playing, running, and having fun are what these two love to do!
