The second child learns from the first child at an astounding rate. Megan has copied Lukas and learned so much! She is doing things at this age that Lukas didn't do until he was almost 2 years old! It's crazy! Here are some examples:
-Megan can drink through a straw at 12 months old, Lukas didn't do this until he was almost 2 years old!
-Megan can climb on things (up onto things) at 12 months old, Lukas did this early but not as early. I think he really started climbing around 15 months, only because he was too busy running around.
-Megan refused baby food at 9months old, and Lukas loved his baby food. He ate it all the way until he was 14 months old! She wanted to eat what we were eating!
-Megan has started picking up toys at 12 months old, only because she is copying Lukas and they do this at daycare too. Lukas is still on and off with picking up toys. It's funny though sometimes when I get Megan out a toy out of the toy box she puts it back. Too funny!
I am crossing my fingers she potty trains faster...but that's another year away or more. Lukas started being interested in the potty around 2 years old and then didn't want anything to do with it for almost a year. Around 3 years old he pretty much potty trained himself. We just put him in pull ups for about a month, and viola he asked for underwear. He's still to this day only had 1 accident.
That being said...Lukas has been copying Megan sometimes too. He saw her sitting on Molly which we don't let him do, but when Megan was doing it I took a picture. He gently sat on Molly and I took another one (above). I will have to start telling Megan she can't sit on Molly now too. It's not fair to let one child do something and not the other.
I am glad they have each other, and Megan is lucky to have Lukas as her example to learn from!
