May 2nd Will Go Down In History
This is what we woke up to last Thursday. Well something like this...this was after my husband and I went out and shoveled for an hour while the kids were sleeping. It was the first time where I didn't even try giving it a go to get into work. The weekend before was beautiful! We had 70 degree weather, grill outs, a fire, and the beautiful wonderful nature center! Tuesday after we were done with supper Chris, the kids and I decided to hit up the park. The kids got to swing and go down the slide. While we were at the park I pointed to the sky...and I said "look at those dark clouds." My husband said "we need to get going home now." So we walked back home and the second we set foot in our drive way we started seeing sprinkles. We got inside and before we knew it we had thunder and lighting and hail!
Well that night it rained all night on and off. Same thing on Wednesday May 1st. Then I looked at the forecast and this is what I saw...
The rain was going to change to snow and they were now forecasting 9 inches of snow for our area! I was really hoping they were wrong. I think everyone else was too. It started snowing and sleeting May 1st that evening, but nothing was staying because the ground was getting warm. As I went to bed I was hoping that it would keep melting. Needless to say it didn't. Our area got a total of 10 inches of snow May 2nd and then another 1-2 inches of snow May 3rd.
The snow is already gone...thank goodness! I wanted to put this on the blog for when my children get older. They will see the historic snow we had in May and they will know winter of 2012-2013 has got to be one of the most stubborn for not leaving! So if you are reading this Lukas and Megan and you are older now...this is what we did that day. We cuddled, made cookies, colored, and watched Dora, Mario, and built stuff with Legos. It was a pretty good day of being with my babes and just getting to take a day off and be with you guys. The snow was a downer and none of us was happy about it, but that is the positive that I am taking away from that day. That I got a extra day with my sweet monkeys. Love you two...very very much!
