County Fair 2013

We had to squeeze in the trip to the fair this year.  So we got done with work that Friday and headed to that town to eat and get some rides in.  This was Megan's first year she got to ride the rides!  Yay!!  The first ride was the carousel.  Both kids love this ride!

 

Then it was on to the whacky shack!  Lukas was old enough this year to try this ride.  He got pretty confused though.

 

He kept banging his face into the glass mirrors.  I felt bad laughing, but it was funny.  The guy had to help him through that part.

 



We also got to go down the tall slide.  Megan loved it!  Lukas was not a fan.  I had to go up there and take him down and he clung onto me the whole time.  I don't think he likes that butterfly in your stomach feeling.  I don't have any pictures of that though.  Wish I did though!   Megan would have been smiling huge!

We got to hit the ponies next.  Megan loved it!  She kept petting the pony saying "peety tony" and then after awhile she would say loudly "giddup!"

Lukas loved it too...picture is a little blurry.  He kept telling me that he was just like a "real cowboy!"

All in all we had a good time at the fair.  Ate some not so good for us food, and the kids got to play the duck game.  Completed the night by having mini donuts and went home!  (Unknowingly also Megan got so much more at the fair that we thought...in walks stomach flu the rest of the week to come!)  She probably could have avoided it if she wasn't teething molars right now.  Those darn hands are in her mouth all the time! 

Wow...what a week and half that was...

OK...well, I feel I must fill in the last week in a half since I have not blogged about the kids at all.  Here's how it all started...

Friday night the 16th we went to a county fair in our area where our lovely Megan picked up a stomach bug.  She never came down with it or felt sick though...that we could tell.  She did throw up once, but after she got upset over a toy.  I thought she had got worked up.  Well then Sunday morning she woke up with one of the biggest yuckiest diapers I have ever seen!  I chalked it up to fair food, and then Saturday night we had been at a BBQ and she had alot of sugar. 

Sunday I ran in the Color Dash our town had with one of my best friends.  She came over while Megan was eating.  Megan shared french fries with her.  Well needless to say Sunday night I got sick and then Monday she got sick!  The dominoes started to fall from there.  My husband got sick Tuesday, my Mom got sick too, and Lukas was sick Wednesday and Thursday.  I tell you what...last week was not a great week at the Tabor household or people that had hung out with my little family.

The good news is everyone was feeling much better by the weekend and we got to go have fun!  This brings us to the 23rd or Friday.

We had my husband's birthday party and then we tried a new babysitter!  Our new babysitter did a great job and we will definitely be asking her back! 

24th was Lucy's dedication and then my husband's Aunt's surprise retirement/birthday party!  By Sunday we were dragging.  I will fill in the blanks with some other posts on each particular event, but I must say what a busy August this has been.  It's almost gone and it just felt like it started!  Where does time go?
 

Goofy Morning!

The other day we had a late start for Lukas's registration and they were eating breakfast and discussing things.  Well I made myself a spinach, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich.  Lukas took one look at it and said "that looks gross Mom."  Here is our complete conversation...

Lukas: (disgusted face) "that looks gross Mom." (pointing to my sandwich)
Me: (smile and take another bite) "it's really yummy and good for me Lukas!"
Lukas:  "what is it Mom?"
Me: "It's spinach, egg, and cheese.  Do you want a bite?"
Lukas:  "No, that is the grossed thing I have ever heard of!"
Megan:  "Yuck Mommy!" 
Lukas:  "See Megan things it's yucky too!"
Me: (looking at Megan) "ummm this is so good, do you want a bite?"
Megan: (smiling huge) "Yes Mommy!"
Lukas:  "Megan, you thought that sandwich was yucky remember?"
Megan:  (nodding her head yes) she says "yes yucky" then looks at me "Mommy bite peeas?"
Lukas:  (looking at me) he says "my sister makes no sense!"


That's right little buddy...your sister is 2 and no she doesn't usually make alot of sense!  I am glad even thought she was copying Lukas and saying it was gross that she was open to try it still!  LOL!

Getting Ready for School and Megan's 1st Haircut!

It's getting to that time of the year when you start getting the kids stuff for the weather change coming, school, and of course haircuts for pictures!  Lukas had pictures last week so I took him in for his haircut.  While I was there Megan desperately needed her bangs cut.  She was having a hard time seeing and darned if she wouldn't keep her piggy tails in so she could see.  Next best option was to clip her bangs. 

 

They both did great!  Sat still, quiet, and very polite little kiddos!  Megan even got a certificate for her 1st haircut!  Complete with date, time, who cut her hair, and some of her hair on it!  Another first and came and gone for her!  She just keeps on growing and changing!  Love my kids so much!!

Megan's Friend and Daycare Fun!

If you ask Megan how her day went at daycare she will say "dood!"  Which of course means 'good' and if you ask her who her best friend at daycare is she will say "Tenee" (aka Tenlee).  The picture above is a little girl about 2 months older than Megan  and her pulling each other and they are such great friends!  They sqweal when they see each other and run and hug most mornings!  They play together so well because they like the same things!  So this is Megan's Tenlee and she loves her best friend! 

Another thing...Megan is goofy!  She was playing with some of Emma's (our daycare lady's daughter and Megan's 3rd cousin) hair stuff.  Emma/our daycare lady sent me these goofy pictures!

 

She thinks she is "petty" and she really loved this in her hair...but only to be funny!  If I made her wear that she would freak out at me...I am mostly positive anyway!  She is a stubborn little lady!

Then I had the following exchange with my daycare lady.  She sent me a picture of Megan sleeping one day at nap time.  I love that our daycare lady loves our kids and enjoys them too!

We Love Lucy!

 

 

 

Last Friday the kids and I were so excited to have my niece Lucy with us!  She sat and played on a blanket which she kept tipping over the puppy in front of her in the picture above.  Also...she is teething like hardcore!  Fingers and everything immediately to the mouth...STAT!  She was so funny though!

 

We played for a while on the floor until she started to get hungry.  So I went and got her bottle and fed her.  She is the wiggliest baby I have ever fed.  She doesn't like to sit still at all!  It was so cute!  She needed to know what the kids were doing while she was eating.  When we got down to the last 2 ounces I let Lukas feed her.

 

After awhile Lukas decided she was too much to hang onto to try to feed.  So he said "Mama, I think she wants to be done."  After we fed her I got her diaper changed and told the kids to put their shoes on.  We were going to take a walk with her.

 

During our walk Lucy was full of motor noises and spitting.  Lukas kept asking me, "what is that noise Mom?"  I was like "it's Lucy, she's our little motor noise maker!"  He would just laugh.  He came over numerous times and kissed her head!  He is so caring and sweet.  He reminds me of his Dad that way!

 

All in all we had a fabulous Friday night!  I got to hang out with the some of the 3 coolest people I know and we loved every minute of having their little cousin over to visit!  



  

MN Zoo!!!

Our little family along with my friend Carrie ventured to the Minnesota Zoo last weekend!  We mainly went because Lukas loves dinosaurs and they had a dinosaur area.  Got up there just a little before lunch and did some walking.  We got to see many animals.  The monkeys were fun!  Here's some snapshots of our day! 

 

 

We had a grrrreat day!  It was alot of walking and I did get tired, but I got myself a coffee on the way home!
